Music Barse

Whether they feature family fun karaoke or thumping rock bands, the music bars in Alicante make for a great evening of entertainment and can be found throughout the city, old town and marina area. Even when enjoying a few drinks in the city's tapas bars, visitors are sometimes treated to impromptu music performances as many establishments will have at least one acoustic guitar, if not a range of musical instruments behind the bar for customers who feel like a bit of a jam session.

The majority of music bars in Alicante do not have a cover charge unless they are featuring a top musical act or having a theme party night, but these usually offer superb entertainment and are well worth the entrance fee. Another performance not to be missed that are sometimes featured in the music bars in Alicante are flamenco shows, with mesmerising dancers in their colourful dresses accompanied by wonderful Spanish guitar.

Karaoke Feelings – Enjoyed by locals and tourists alike and boasting a picturesque setting in the marina, Karaoke Feelings has pleasant decor, a well stocked bar, ample seating, dance floor and stage complete with a selection of sombreros and stetson hats to add to the party vibe.

Pub-Karaoke Don Gato – A favourite with the locals and boasting a life size statue of Elvis, this is one of those places where you can get to see customers strut their stuff to a variety of bold Spanish and Latin American music. They also do great cocktails, jugs of sangria and tasty empanadas (small savoury pastries). Don Gato is located on Av. Condes de Soto Ameno.

Manhattan Cafe – Located on Calle Bilbao in the city centre, this lounge bar has stylish decor and inviting lighting where the younger crowd enjoy the great value and rather strong drinks accompanied by both local and international music played by resident and guest DJ's.

Jendrix – Also with a city location behind the central market on Calle Garcia Morato, Jendrix is a great fun rock bar with a Jimmy Hendrix theme, excellent audio & visual system and even a colourful hippy camper van as part of the decor.

Freaks Arts Bar – A favourite with local expats, Freaks host a variety of music and cultural events throughout the week, and the friendly owners have even arranged a language exchange held every Friday evening. Situated close to the railway station on Carrer Alona 8.

Tribeca Music Bar – The friendly staff, funky decor and delicious food make this one of the most popular music bars in Alicante. Rock and pop music take centre stage here and their selection of inventive burgers are not to be missed. Located on Calle San Fernando 18.
